Gwenith Glide: Speed Boost
Lightweight speed assist for mid-game Sailing routes—crafting, placement, and best uses.
Gwenith Glide is a light sail add-on that smooths acceleration and trims travel time on mixed-wind routes. It’s ideal when you need modest speed without reworking your whole deck.
Crafting & Requirements
Requires 45 Crafting / 40 Sailing. Materials: refined silk and ironwood struts. Keep overall ship weight low to feel the speed bump.
Best Use Cases
Medium routes with changing wind; short contract loops where full Wind Catcher is overkill; salvage detours that need quick repositioning.
Placement Tips
Lock helm and economic facilities first (Extractor/Hook), then place Glide where it doesn’t block helm interaction. Speed is useless if you must step off the helm.
Frequently Asked Questions
When to pick Gwenith Glide over Wind Catcher?
When you want modest speed on a tight deck or mixed-wind routes; Wind Catcher is better for long, steady tailwinds.
Does weight matter?
Yes. Keep cargo under ~70% and avoid stacking heavy decor near the Glide to preserve its effect.
Will it conflict with Extractor or Hook?
No, but plan helm/Extractor distance first, then place Glide so you don’t block helm paths.
