OSRS Guide
OSRS Sailing Skill
Fast routes, gear choices, and 1-tick handling for level 80+ helms.
OSRS Sailing asks you to balance XP/hr and GP. Short contracts give XP, salvage plus the Extractor give passive GP, so mix both routes.
Efficient Routes
Loop Port Sarim ↔ Crandor contracts for strong tailwinds; drop in 1–2 salvage spots to steady GP. When headwinds hit, swap to salvage instead of wasting time.
Gear Priorities
1) Wind Catcher for an 8–12% speed bump; 2) Upgrade Salvaging Hook to Rune; 3) At level 80 add a Crystal Extractor within two tiles of the helm.
Handling Rhythm
Keep cargo at 60–70% to avoid slowing; empty the Extractor every 5 ticks; when sea monsters appear, helm first so the route never stops.
Frequently Asked Questions
What XP/hr after level 80?
Short contract loops reach 90–120k XP/hr; with an Extractor you also get 8–12 shards/hr passively.
Solo or party?
Solo is steadier; parties speed up Barracuda-style runs but require clear 5-tick emptying and helm ownership.
What about headwinds?
Keep an alternate tailwind route or switch to salvage. Wind Catcher still helps mobility but offers no headwind bonus.
