OSRS Ships
Sloop OSRS
Fastest starter ship: speed contracts, light salvage, and Extractor placement.
Sloop is the early-game speed ship for short contracts and frequent returns. Highly mobile but limited cargo, so weight must be tightly controlled.
Recommended Setup
Wind Catcher for 8–12% tailwind speed; Crystal Extractor directly right of the helm (within two tiles); keep the deck clear so the helm isn’t blocked.
Routes & Rhythm
Loop Port Sarim ↔ Crandor contracts and add nearby salvage for GP. Return once cargo tops 60% to maintain ship speed and XP/hr.
Operational Tips
Empty the Extractor every 5 ticks without leaving the helm; dodge sea monsters first; when headwinds hit, swap to salvage instead of wasting time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why pick Sloop instead of Skiff?
Sloop is faster and more agile for short XP runs; Skiff fits mid/long routes and bigger cargo.
What if the Extractor is placed wrong?
You must demolish and rebuild, losing 3M GP. Use the ghost image first and keep it within two tiles of the helm.
Can a Sloop run Barracuda?
Yes, with solid helm work and 5-tick emptying. Mobility is great under pressure but leaves little room for mistakes.
